Greetings and Welcome!
On behalf of the Joint Conference Committee, thank you for your interest in presenting at the 2025 IAPD/IPRA Soaring to New Heights Conference to be held January 23-25, 2025 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. We invite you to submit a proposal for conference workshops and sessions that unveil the best ideas, informed by research, theory or practice, for parks, recreation, special recreation, forest preserves and conservation. Before you begin the submission form, please be sure to read the provided information. Proposals are submitted by selecting PROPOSALS at the top and clicking +Add Listing on the next page.

Submissions Deadline
You may submit more than one proposal, but you must submit a separate form for each session/workshop proposed. Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed. The submission deadline has been extended to Friday, June 28, 2024. Notification of your proposal’s status will be sent once the review process has been completed in July.
Proposal Review and Selection Criteria
Proposals are peer reviewed by members of the IAPD and IPRA Conference Program Committees. Reviewers will evaluate proposals using the following criteria:
- Relevance - The proposal offers essential, high impact information, addresses current issues, and/or builds on concepts that are important to park districts, recreation, special recreation, forest preserves and conservation agencies.
- Innovation - The proposal offers creative, cutting-edge, innovative, or provocative ideas and/or a novel approach to a common issue. After attending this session, participants would have new inspiration, motivation, and/or tools to take back to their agencies/organizations.
- Engagement - The proposal provides evidence of an opportunity for participants to learn actively and/or engage with the material through participatory activities, discussion, and/or a question/answer period.
- Presentation - The proposal is clear, concise, well-organized, and grammatically sound. The authors demonstrate attention and care in the development of this proposal.
